Learning about our country

The huapango is the name of a Mexican musical style and the accompanying lively dance of Spanish origin that is especially popular in the lands along the Gulf of Mexico. The huapango is a rhythmic style of the Son Huasteco genre. Its roots can be traced in the south spanish flamenco.
The classical trio huasteco brings together a violin, a quinta (a big guitar) and a jarana (guitar-looking, but with 8 chords). The classical huapango is characterized by a complex rhythmic structure which reflect the intricate steps of the dance . When the players sing (in duo, on a falsetto tone) the violin stops, and the zapateo gets soft. The huapango is danced by men and women as couples; the men sing, the women don't.
I think that we must learn about Mexico, because sometimes we are interested in other cultures and we don't know the greatness Mexican culture. I added a picture of a couple dancing in the Cervantin Festival, in Guanajuato.

This section is dedicated to revealing the most hidden truths of this fantastic English class. Here they are:
  • Jose Manuel is an America fan.
  • Juan Antonio hates the America, that's what he says but what is more secure that he is an America fan.
  • There are a pair of amorous couples in the group, for respect them i wont say their names but surely you can imagine.

My visit to Guadalajara

The past Wednesday, I visited Guadalajara in order to asist to the firts Congres of Mechatronic Engineering. Of course, I took the opportunity to visit some tourist attractions. Although I only had one day to do so, it was long enough to walk in the streets and plazas of the center. What most caught my attention was the central cathedral, which contains shrines dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Our Lady of Sorrows, the Virgin of Zapopan (patron saint of Guadalajara), Santo Domingo de Guzman, San Nicolas de Bari, St. Thomas Aquinas, San Cristobal, San Juan de Dios. There are 52 seats carved wooden chair in addition to the Cardinals. The decoration is made of marble and silver. The colors of stained glass are imported from France, the guide told me that. In praticular it was a very pleasant experience despite the fact that I had to miss several classes and my English exam, but I will do it ... I hope.

48 years of spaceflight pictured

This year, NASA is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Inspired to make his own contribution, astronomer Ralf Vandebergh recorded images of some historic spacecraft in Earth orbit -- captured with his own modest equipment and a 10-inch, Newtonian reflecting telescope. From a 1960 launch, on the left is the TIROS 2 satellite, one of the first successful weather satellites. While this TIROS (Television InfraRed Observation System) satellite stopped functioning in 1961, Vandeberg notes that if we could visit it now, we would still find video cameras and magnetic tape recorders. On the right, of course, is the ISS (International Space Station) including its recent addition, the Progress M-65 cargo vehicle, launched to the ISS the last month. It will be a great year for de NASA and all their investigations.

New techy keychain

Keychains rarely have useful, much less multiple useful functions. However, this little device may be small but it is packed full of all kinds of useful items. First of all is the universal tv remote, which makes it so that you can turn the volume up or down as well as change channels and shut the tv off entirely. Yet it also could be used as a back up when you manage to lose the remote. Once I’ve managed to find mine in the kitchen and on one occasion set down in the fridge. What ever, this nice keychain can be very useful for those who like technology.

9/11 attacks Economical Repercutions

It must sound very impressive to you, but its true, the 9 11 terroist attacks have had an important efect in united states, that's beacuse the event caused a lot of uncertainty and panic in population, this caused low in consume of all type of goods, but specially the ones that are gained through credit such as hauses and cars. In order to incentivate this goods consume, the U.S. Federal Reserve lowered the interest rates from 5.25 % to 1% in a 3 month period, this generated a new wave of mortgage credits expansion, hyper inflation in housing sector, and the globalization of the morgage debt among other effects. As we all now this situation generated the actual economic crisis.

War in Iraq and repercutions in United States Economy

One thing you must know is that war in Irak has been very harmful for the united states economy, althouth the official statements from the defense department about the anual budget which they assure it about 50 billion dollars, there's a group that claims the whole annual budgt in military issues, including expenses in the new found department of homeland security, and the FBI antiterrorist investigation unit, goes around 1 trillion dollars per year, so obiously this expenses had affected average american people by increasing taxes and providing less social investment by the goverment of the united states of america.
Its very clear, the federal administration leaded by Geroge W. Bush has guided american economy in to a bankrupt. and so on the Crisis of the Finnancial Markets around the world.

World Wide Crisis

The World wide market crisis.

It's not news the fact that the global economy is falling to pieces now a days, the stock markets are suffering several losses, and finnancial institutions cant find the way to stop falling.
Last october 30th, the house of representatives of United States, fallied to approve a 700 000 million dlls program to rescue the finnacial sector, proposed in first instance by P. George W. Bush.
As the days pass, the downpeek seems to get deeper, and there's nothing world can do to stop it; even oil is lowering its price, so the first thing we have to realize is that we are on a very big crisis, and its bigger than the other ones because the amount of money that's in jeopardy its bigger than in the past, due the level of finnancial transactions we reached since 2003 till now.
Second, we also have to realize that this means a enourmous change in the global economy, experts still don't know how this changes are going to afect people lifes, or how it's going to happend.
At last the only thing we can be certain of is the fact that this crisis is going to impact our way of living, reducing our spectatives of reaching our economic goals at a short and long term

How do you say "luz ceniciente" in English?

This is the light that the Earth reflects over the moon, and which illuminates slightly its dark side.
This photograph of this kind of light in a young waxing moon was taken by the photographer and translator of the APOD Laurent Laveder from the remote observatory form Pic duMidi in France.
This reflection dues mainly to the layer of clouds which covers the Earth and recent studies about this terrestrial shine show that is more marked in April and May. A description of this shine in terms of light that is reflected from the moon, was written five hundred years ago by Leonardoda Vinci.
